Vacay stress

If you are like me (and most of the self employed working world) you both look forward to and somewhat dread vacation time.

Why? Because you work like a crazy person before vacation so you can enjoy your time away, knowing when you return you will just have to "rinse and repeat"!

We were away for 2 weeks. i spent the first couple of days acclimating to traveling,  extreme heat, lack of sleep, and yes, worry over how my firm was faring without me.

The middle of the time away was the best. I actually immersed myself in the time with my SO (best friend). We played, ate, drank, and slept.

Then, as the time was drawing to an end, my mind inevitably turned back to the office.  Envisioning what I was returning to.

Needless to say, after a red eye flight and arriving home at 8:00 am, my SO wasn't shocked when I was out the door heading for my office 5 minutes after we got home.

Worth it to go away at all???? For me yes, it is necessary.

How about you?

I am exactly like you. Stress before and then towards the end of the trip. Unfortuently, if staying in the states, my phone is easily accessible and even the middle can get intruded on. Such is life.

I had my business for 50 years. Thinking that I was totally indispensable, I deprived myself of many great vacation opportunities.
My 4th husband, also a long term entrepreneur, finally talked me out of my attitude. I took the leap, and guess what? They did fine without me. The moral of this story is, hire smart people w ho care as much about OUR clients and other significant others as you do..
