Off Off Off and More Off Broadway

And fantastic!

We are great fans of local theatre.  Frankly, we are great fans of theatre anywhere.  Make it a musical, and we are in heaven. I can pretty much guarantee that we are the singing and swaying couple at most musicals.

Recently we went to see A Chorus Line at The Argyle Theatre in Babylon, Long Island.  What a wonderful performance.

I must have seem this particular show at least a half dozen times, on stage and on film.  Each time it is just a little different.

True to form, we sang and swayed – well, at least I did.  And it felt just like Broadway, without any commute and a drive almost to the front door of the theatre.

And now, I am torn between At the Ballet and What I Did For Love as my favorite songs.  Maybe we should have A Chorus Line sing off.

Yup! Gotham’s best. Perhaps a new Gotham event. I say it beats battle of the bands.

Sounds wonderful! Sunday I'll be seeing American Rot at La Mama (shades of the 70s and The Living Theater). It's a short piece centered around teens and gender identity, directed by Estelle Parsons with sets by Christina Weppner, who some of you may know. Both of them are certainly eligible to join Encore, so I'm happy to support their project. I'd be up for a Chorus Line sing-along if I could be on mute.

No surprise you sway and sing. You ought be on Broadway but got upstaged by courtroom drama.
