Optimism time

Mets, Citi Field

Annually, in the middle of winter, something happens that brings a bout of optimism.  It especially matters when my green gridiron team, unfortunately more often than not, falls short of expectations, or worse offers no expectations.  My hoops team based at MSG, some of the time, but this year especially, helps temper the upset.  So as the game played on the diamond and abutting green space returns, I look forward to some things happeng on the field that bring smiles more often than not.

Let's see is all I tell friends.  I look forward to Opening Day and a gathering of some 250 members of Gotham and my Pythian Lodge and friend and colleagues of same attending a Mets-Yankees game at Citi Field.  Some of you already have reservations.  I prefer to remain hopeful.  I expect a more exciting set of players than depicted at left.

We need a healthy Aaron Rodgers and a free agent wide receiver signing for 2024!

I saw some kids carrying their baseball equipment yesterday! Spring is on the way... BTW, now that I live in The Boogie Down Bronx, am I compelled to pick a new team? Will I care more?
