My Sweet Escape

Categories

This is the first President’s Week, in several years, that we have not taken a family vacation. That, along with the sound of my husband once again shoveling snow outside, has me daydreaming about vacations on the beach instead of focusing on blog writing. If I could go anywhere right now it would be to the beach in Rivera Maya, Mexico. The beaches in Rivera Maya are beyond description with beautiful aquamarine water that meets pure white sand. Other than the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, the only other sound one might hear on the beach is the voice of a waiter saying, “Can I get you something to drink?”

Perhaps if I close my eyes, wish really hard, and tap my feet together three times. . .

Where would you go to escape this winter?

PS In case I don't get carried away to Rivera Maya please join me, with the newly named Gotham Meadowbrook Group (previously Gotham South Shore) at our new venue Golden Reef Diner  329 Sunrise Hwy, Rockville Centre, NY on Tuesday Feb 18 at 8AM. We are thrilled to welcome Vincent Russo who will be joining Norm Spizz and myself as co-chairs, along with group coordinator Ester Horowitz.  We invite all circuit riders, guests and "fresh fish".

How about Gotham Rivera Maya?

What's wrong with having better weather come our way? While I do not walk outside a yard to a beach, much of what I like lies in my home or moments away. (Not that there was once a time just lying on a beach, glass in hand, worked....). Our next foray out of town involves no loss of any of my basketball games that I look forward to. Most of the time with really two exceptions in recent times, most of the concerts I want to see get offered in and around NYC. This may sound crazy to some but when I sit in my office no matter how difficult the project(s) at hand, I feel like I am on vacation. Perhaps I need a more proper "education"
