Jet flight

I enjoy plane rides. At least taking off. That's when you are pushed back into your seat from the g forces. I love the speed. Last night I was enamoured with the view of NY and Long Island from the plane as we broke through the clouds descending into LaGuardia. It looked magical with all the different lights twinkling, defining the natural geography. The water is black but you know it's there.

As you get closer, the sparkling lights become street lights defining buildings and parking lots. The movement of cars coming and going create a continual stream of movement. I wonder what this appears like to an alien arriving for the first time. It must look like wierd.

Landing was fun this time because the plane bounced once. I think the pilot is like me...he prefers take offs.

Recently we took our puppy Charcoal on a flight and she ate her way out of the carrying case which was under the seat.

I too, Mitch, love to fly. I tell hubby he has the best job, he sees the amazing view every time he goes to work. If I recall correctly, his personal favorite is "cloud surfing"... when the cloud layer is completely flat, and the plane flies +- 100 feet above the layer...it is one of the only times while flying one can experience the sense of speed in the air. Pretty amazing.

My absolute favorite mode of travel. TW's should plan a plane trip. I'm pretty sure I would get to choose my seat ✔️

It's so beautiful to watch sunrise from above. Flying gives everything a different perspective.

The only thing I like about flying is getting away from this stinking winter and going somewhere sunny, warm, and there is an umbrella in my drink.

While I've discussed my fear of flying numerous times before, for reasons I am unsure of, I am less fearful when I can see what's beneath me. In December we flew into LaGuardia for the first time in numerous years. Seeing NYC from my seat was an incredible sight.

I have logged something like 5 million miles over the past thirty years or so, and I absolutely HATE flying. But I do it anyway. Fortunately, I do extremely limited business travel on planes; most of my journeys aloft are for pleasure travel.

I enjoy travel but other than the spectacle of flight, the miracle the experience of the "prep", the lines, the security points, turn it into something to endure. Much more a road trip kind of guy, and not just because I am a Gotham Wilbury.
