It's Flu Season

But for some, it is flu season by choice. In its quest to further understand the virus, the NIH is conducting a study of flu sufferers. The catch this time though is that NIH is looking for people to voluntarily become infected. Those who do so will receive a nasal spray laced with the virus – and the then NIH will observe. The reward, you ask?

Three thousand dollars. That’s a lot of money.

That said, the flu is dangerous. And I question the risk-reward analysis.

What do you think? Would you participate in this study?

No amount of money could compensate me

I don't know, I just got over it and I only missed one day of work (and that was because I didn't want to get the others sick) and zero hockey games. For three grand...sign me up!

No I wouldn't participate. I haven't been sick in years and see no reason, not even $3,000, to do it voluntarily.

I could not risk this as I am an asthmatic and have had pneumonia twice. Anyone who can come up with a good cure/solution to the flu I would applaud though.
