My Latest Addiction

Categories
Entertainment Blogs

I have recently “discovered” On Demand television. Through On Demand, my husband, stepson, and I have become huge fans of Homeland, having binge watched the entire first season during the recent blizzard weekend. We are about to begin season two. I have also discovered the television show, Episodes, and have found myself laughing out loud while watching the show.

The only drawback of our late discovery of these shows is the possibility of knowing what will occur in future episodes. Unfortunately, just in casual reading on Facebook and Twitter, my stepson and I both know how the third season of Homeland ends even though we are about to begin season two. Apparently, no one on Facebook believes in spoiler alerts.

What are you watching? Should I be watching it also?

Other than Mad Men and Walking Dead, I have not found myself in a stay tune mode.
If not for the utility of NY1 News for my practice, I might drop cable and explore other options for the sports team and sports I follow. Netflix may be an option longer term. Through my AppleTV, I have been able to watch any # of movies and concerts that I find not available through cable and broadcast TV (many of which were staples in my memory during my youth). Today I enjoyed a 3 hour concert and on the big screen I could not get that close in person.

My wife and I do the same thing and just completed Homeland as well. Shame that you found out about the ending where we wipe out Iran in a massive nuclear assault...it was pretty dramatic. Looking for our next series, so any other options would be appreciated.

Although the brunette is adorable, I have trouble getting into Masters of Sex and from what I've heard, Dexter might be a little too violent for my wife. Breaking Bad is my inclination, but I am pretty militantly anti-drug right now, so I wonder if I would be too skewed to enjoy it. I hear so many great things though.

I still miss 24, best TV I've ever seen

We watched all of Breaking Bad on Netflix. It was awesome. Great development of characters. You will enjoy it Erik.

I love on demand and the ability to watch anything anywhere. I can't imagine going back. The Dracula series is quite cool and not what you'd think it would be based on past Dracula portrayals. Check it out.

An older one is The Tudors. Of course there is House of Cards and Downtown Abbey.
Breaking Bad and Mad Men are on my cue. Is there ever enough binge time?

Scandal is a good one we found on Netflix, and The Following is creepy as all get out, but additive. You can stream that one off Fox direct or off you tube. My husband said Hell on Wheels was awesome.
