Name Your Poison
My family and I spent Christmas week at an all inclusive resort in Rivera Maya, Mexico, a beautiful location. Part of the fun at an all inclusive resort is that all alcohol is included in the price of the hotel. The first day at the beach my family and I had a blast trying all of the frozen concoctions. From the Blue Hawaiian to the Iceberg, we tasted them all.
That first evening, as we sat in one of the lounges, the cocktail waitress told me that the bartender would make any drink we requested. In fact, the cocktail menu she handed me was voluminous. But hiding within its pages was my favorite drink, a Kir Royale, which is a combination of champagne and creme de cassis. While I continued to taste the various frozen drinks on the beach during the day, every evening I happily ordered my Kir Royale (yes Alan Schwartz I do love drinking pink).
What’s your favorite drink?

These days my preference is Malibu Rum with lime juice and seltzer.
I also make mean pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris during summer BBQ and at our pool clubs annual labor day bash; this past labor I also experimented with fresh peaches blended with Rum and/ or vodka; they were a big hit.
I also enjoy Frangelico in my cappuccino or expresso (or coffee - which led me to prefer Hazelnut coffee).
