I'm Sorry

Categories

I admit that I always looked down my nose and barely tolerated the dog lovers who constantly peppered me with pet pictures and their related cooing.

Over the years we have had dogs, which i have tolerated, and one wonderful cat (Kitzel).

As many of you may know, this year, after many petless years, I submitted to my wife Joanne's request and we got a hyper allergenic puppy.

Her name is Charcoal and she is a Schnoodle (Schnauzer-poodle).

Words can not describe the love that I feel for this sweet little adorable puppy. I could go on and on and on, but I do not want to lose you.

I just want to say, I'm sorry (especially to Dana and Pat)!  Suffice it to say, the pet lovers were so right and I was so  wrong!

 I'm sorry.....

Have you figured out how to take your precious pup for a walk without having 'leash malfunction" resulting in a runaway pooch resulting in potential "big time" marital issues?

We have come up with a solution

I was like that, too, until I got pets, in my case cats. Pets love you unconditionally, ...and are much more appreciative than husbands or children!

Until one feels the love of and connection with a dog, it's difficult to imagine it. 'Nuf said. Apology accepted!

I believe its "Hypo" not "Hyper" allergenic. Either way, you (not Charcoal) will be the one in the dog house if you start sneezing...

I prefer visiting to owning. There's a backstory but most readers as non-Wilburys just will not know.

You are forgiven. Now do you want to see a picture of my dog? Lol

Tell me when you consider only hotels that are pet friendly so that you can take Charcoal with you on road trips. And that she is well trained to NOT cry, bark or howl when you leave; content with a toy and treat. I am sure you feel about Charcoal the way my husband does about Merryweather; that is, there has never been another dog like her. Enjoy!

Our kids tried forever to get me to relent and get a dog. Truth is, I actually like dogs a lot (and they love me, too), but we travel a lot and my cousin Louise, whom I'm very close to, cannot be around cats or dogs, and I'd rather see her than an animal. Enjoy Charcoal! She sounds like a keeper.

There are NO people I would rather be with than my dogs. In other words I would rather be with my dogs than ANYBODY !!! No offense...They just want to do everything they can to make me happy and don't expect anything back. Like Rona said. Unconditional. But I give them EVERYTHING I can back...As I ease into retirement they are my BEST FRIENDS! Oh yeah...About the apology...We are never too old to straighten stuff out. The fact that you have transcended to this point is what we all should do as we age. The apology is in the essence of your relationship with Charcoal my friend.

I'm with Riva-my dog loves me unconditionally. She doesn't have to "borrow" my credit card to love me.
