Switching Sides..or A Good Walk Spoiled

A Guest Blog by Flo Feinberg

It was a beautiful Sunday, perfect for a healthy walk.

We had returned from a week of mindless bliss on Martha's Vineyard into the maelstrom of the Jewish holidays...this was the first moment we had to refresh and contemplate the busy autumn ahead.
It was warmer than I expected; not a cloud in the sky.
So thrilled to embrace the day, I hadn't applied my sunscreen; a no-no!

-This seemingly minor omission had major consequences!
Rather than take the newly paved sunlit trail just opened to bikers and walkers, I insisted on going the other way- a partially shaded walking path; so far, so good...
On the final stretch, marking the end of our walking route and leading directly to our local bagel store, I left the pavement for the shaded gravel in the street, took one or two jaunty steps and fell right into a hidden hole!
My right wrist, knee and elbow broke my fall; unfortunately the fall fractured my wrist-

I am now learning to be a lefty, switching sides...

What a way to spoil a good walk on what should have been a very good day!

My daughter can give you lefty lessons!! She'd be happy to have the company-only lefty in the family as far back as anyone can remember.

Feel better.

You need to be positive. You can now infiltrate the lefty group and tell the rest of the world about their secret handshake.

Oh no. What a bummer. And, yes, as Cynthia stated, "What a PIA!". Thankfully Ben can help you. All the best. Hugs.

As Esther said, it was Ben's fault for not holding your hand

Wishing you a speedy recovery. This seems to be a season for falls and slips. We need to be more careful. Some other close friends endured falls as well, including a husband and wife.
