Remembering Dick Clark
In the past few years, Dick Clark has not really been an active presence on New Year’s Eve. As his health declined, he just could not play the same type of role he had played in the past. Don’t get me wrong. I like Ryan Seacrest but he isn’t Dick Clark.
This year’s New Years show brought Dick Clark back for me. It was so much fun reminiscing about classic Dick Clark moments through the years. Seeing Dick Clark with music icons like (in no particular order) Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, BonJovi, Johnny Cash, ABBA, the Bangles and so many more, was a welcome distraction from worrying about falling off a cliff!
Wishing all of you in our Gotham family and happy and prosperous New Year!

More interestingly to me was how out of touch I believe I may be with the music presented (even though I could not listen to who appeared.
As I indicated in yesterday's comment, I do not look for my music to get played on 12/31 (even though I shared a sample set list via Fred list); as once point -- during the appetizers I think, the DJ played The Promised Land and Jungleland (both classic Bruce Springsteen tunes) which have much meaning to me and my friend Bobby yelled across the room "Corey must've asked for those songs" -- I did -- I yelled back I'd have requested Rosalita (my fave song by the Boss).
Just so funny how things evolved; there was a time that New Year's Rockin' Eve mattered as part of my New Year's festivities -- other than a pic of the ball dropping and glimpses of Times Square, it lacks any connection to me; could be the music.
Best wishes for 2013!
