7/3 Yankee/Met Game

Categories
Games

Every year we go to a Yankee/Met game and we still have a limited number of tickets available for the above  game at the Mets Citi Field.

Before I go on, a continuing expression of appreciation is sent out to Corey Bearak for making all the ticketing and seating arrangements for our Tribe!

I am a life long Yankee fan, but in all the prosperous years (27 World Series Titles) I have never experienced a year like this!

At this writing, my Yankees are in First Place despite injuries to some 20 significant star players.  The one that hurts the most is the one I hold in Mickey Mantlelike adulation,  Aaron Judge.

Rather than being characteristically star studded, the present Yankee line-up is peppered with what I call the “No Name Monsters” in the tradition of the Bad News Bears.

The Mets?  Well that’s a different, sad story for Corey to tell.

I can’t guarantee that all the Yankee stars will return to play 7/3, but here’s hoping Aaron Judge will be in the line up and the “No Name Monsters” keep it up!

This sounds fun...I'll be at the beach for this game, but I'm hopeful the Yanks will be there!

Thank you and Corey for making this happen - it has become an annual tradition - a fun event for Gotham members and their families.
looking forward to the Game
GO METS!

If not for my traditional 4th of July week vacation, I would be joining in the festivities and routing for my Mets (who did just finish a nice 4 game sweep of the Nats).

I agree Corey deserves huge thanks---it is not only a huge amount of work but one into which he puts his heart and soul. Unfortunately we cannot attend this year, however with a daughter who is an avid Mets fan, and a brother who has been a Yankee fan since we were little, the game was great fun (just watching them). I look forward to being able to join Gotham for next year's Subway Series. In the meantime, for harmony in my family, Go Mets and Yankees!! (I know I can't really say that). We Care also attends as a fund raiser-- gratefully the dates chosen for both groups has not conflicted for the past several years.

LGM!!! Sorry, it goes back to the 1960's where my father's company had a box down the first base line. And I had a Mr. Met doll signed by all of the 68 Mets. Which my mother threw out. I think I see a blog there. . .

When Corey puts his heart and soul into something I’ll bet that nobody else comes close . That being said, The Yankee’s have owned me for dare I say 70 years ? It’s been the case that when the Yanks do well I do well . Success in the Bronx becomes my success . It just happens that way and it always has . Mick won the Triple Crown in 1956 . I’ve been on a roll ever since . I slept with my Rawlings MM4 baseball glove until I was 18 . My mother threw it out along with my Mickey Mantle rookie card and my Lionel train set . Off to Rutgers and when I came back for Thanksgiving my room was gone . All I had left was a night at the Peppermint Lounge with Joey Dee and the Starlighters . I think Joanne was there too ? But I digress . I cried when Thurman Munson was killed . I cried when Mickey Mantle died .Diane gifted me with an autographed ball signed by #7 the day he passed. I cried again. I cried when Billy Martin was killed . Yankee lore is woven into my fabric . I was a Yankee . METS fans were traitors . Old despised National League traitors left over from the likes of The Brooklyn Dodgers.Mortal Combat . Have fun July 3 rd Gotham . I’ll be watching from afar .

I agree with all except I still have my Lionel trains!

I'm a New Yorker from Detroit! NYC felt like home since the first time I stepped onto the pavement. And yet, I still feel like the Tigers, Lions (4 fans that I know of) and Redwings are my teams. When it comes to baseball, that's probably a good thing, I don't have to play favorites between the Yankees and Mets. So with that I hope everyone enjoys the season!
