Birthday Bliss

Every decade provides a new opportunity.

Looking back, I recall my 20’s being about the gym, teaching aerobics, body fat percentage, climbing the instructor popularity ladder at NYSC with my “groupies” and going out to the hottest clubs. My intensity and thirst for knowledge began to grow, as I unleashed my inner geek. Nothing seemed more important than achieving these great heights. In my 30’s it was all about climbing the corporate ladder and proving I could be at the top of my corporate class. Victory! I still hold first place in production in Philadelphia in 2007.

As I approach my mid-forties, I appreciate the people that have been placed in my life. Balance and congruence between my professional life, my family, my friends and my hobbies are paramount. I no longer feel the intense urge to prove myself, but rather a feeling of arrival. I rarely doubt my ability to provide value and never think twice about wearing pink dresses, fuzzy earrings and great shoes to close a new piece of business. I trust myself and own my role.

I got this.

Here’s to 44 years next week-May 28th
