A week ago, The Bodega Tall Boys, my son's band, appeared at William Skody's Cafe Wha?

Words can barely describe how wonderful the experience was for me, i.e., enjoying and witnessing Alex doing what he loves best and doing it well.

Making things even better was the fact that we were surrounded by family, friends, Gothamites and fans.

Representative of the universally positive feedback the Tall Boys received was a message on Facebook from a Friend: "had a great time last night, thanks for inviting us… Alex is a very talented young man, U should be very proud of him".

An extra added bonus was the opportunity to introduce the band from the stage. My introduction was as follows: "Who says you don't get a second chance to make a good first impression?  Ladies and gentlemen--The Bodega Tall Boys!"

Good show. Sound was very good. Clean and crisp.
Vocal harmony was very good they have good chops.
I would have liked to see more finger picking bluegrass
Stylings in certain tunes, but thats me. They got a good
Formula and it works.

Talent duly noted and appreciated from family, friends and the tribe. Even better that Tribal member and Co-Chair of the Make A Difference Group William Skody, offered to host. Team playing and t isn't even softball!

Note to Fred: Anonymous posts just to get your goat and it obviously has the desired effect.

You have much to be proud of, my friend. I LOVED the recording that you let us listen to yesterday---powerful words. ;-)

It's great to have a dad that appreciates your music and loves to see you play. I'm lucky I have the same thing.

Looking forward to seeing the tallboys soon. Nachas indeed.

Fred you are indeed lucky to be able to see your son perform so well for many people.
It seemed that when "our kids" were young--parenting seemed like a spectator sport-with little league, soccer, etc. But, to have adult children out there entertaining and enjoying doing it--is a blessing. Don't forget to tell everyone about the TALL BOYS gig on Long Island coming up soon.

Sounds like my kind of music, going to have to check them out soon. Saw a post about LI and I am trying to understand it. Post made it sound like he is playing at Jones Beach with Bob Dylan....am I missing something...this can't be right can it????

Sorry I could not make the city gig. Would love to see his band. Great that you are beaming. Hope Alex and family are or will be enjoying their new home soon!
