Is it me?

I often inquire with my colleagues and compare stories or case scenarios. I'm curious to know if they too, have adventures daily or do I actually take extra risk?

Typically, when I see a family, business or institution that has a clear need for financial managment, I put on my cape and run to the rescue. Mind reading and Extra Sensory Perception are the two super powers I rely on most.

Yesterday, while supporting a new prospect at a golf outing, I came across the "beat the athlete" hole.  Being the shy person that I am, I timidly challenged him to a "closest to the pin" contest and urged him to use my pink golf ball for the contest. He agreed. While chatting, he handed me a signed card with his information on it. On the back of the card, I noticed a dark black line through a bio that read--Lives in South Jersey with his ****** and two children.

I noticed he needed some help. Who would take the time to cross out, with a black sharpie, something so personal?..instead of just playing the hole like everyone else, I couldn't help myself to extend a hand and inquire.

Well, I'll leave the rest of the story for your imagination.

To reference Ben's blog last week..."do something with your life". When the situation arises, it's your chance to do something with your life.

Oh, and he beat me on closest to the pin, but NOT BY MUCH.

Abe Lincoln was asked how he seemingly could read minds and he responded that he relied on his sense of empathy.

This was the basis of a conversation at a group I attended last evening. Empathy.

People often refer to me as an empath. Maybe it's a red head trait?

As the saying goes, god gave us two ears and one mouth, to listen twice as much as we talk. Lol. I think this is a huge part of empathy. I’m working on being a better listener always.
