Robocalls

Do you answer calls to your cellphone from numbers that are not in your contacts or recognized by you?
I try not to. I never answer a call from the same exchange (first three numbers) as my phone number.
I find that the “local caller” phenomenon is also spreading to nearby locales.
I have a harder time with Blocked/No Caller ID numbers because some of my usual callers have blocked their numbers.
Now my cellphone sometimes warns me of a suspected telemarketer and it appears that the carriers are making efforts against Robocalls. Congress has also indicated an interest in new laws to combat Robocalls.

But I won’t let my guard down.
If I don’t answer a call and it’s important, they’ll leave a message.

I'm with you 100%. Yesterday I received a call from supposed DHL saying this was the last time they were reminding about a package I needed to pick up. I continued to listen and then they said press 1 for China. HUH?! China? I now get three of 4 a day.

I block #s prolifically.
On my landline ill pick up so those that leave messages won’t.
Where # unrecognizable i never snswer with my name. If they ask for me i demand to know who is calling. Then i demand they remove my #!

Caller beware: I only answer calls in my contacts.

Typically, I don't pick up if I don't recognize the number and look for the voicemail. If I do pick up and it's a live telemarketer, I engage with them and have had some wonderful conversations. If it's a recorded message in a Chinese dialect, I figure it's not for me.

Big annoyance these Robocalls. If it's important, they will leave a message. I do resist picking up unknown calls, but it tough in my sales industry.

I rarely answer calls from a number I don't recognize as trying to opt out, whether by speaking with a live person or pressing the offered number, doesn't seem to work. The last time I spoke with a live person offering to help reduce my student loans ended abruptly when he hung up the minute I mentioned a didn't have (nor ever had) student loans. LOL

Rarely answer from a number that doesn't come up with a name, however there are those who I do give my cell to who are not in my contacts for one reason or another so I don't always ignore---but do immediately hangup if not someone I know.

Never answer a call from a number not in my contacts. If they leave a message I do listen promptly....usually no message is left.
