Weather Forecasts

I know a lot of people who are addicted to the weather channel and constantly check weather forecasts. Except for softball season when I fear rain outs and tomorrow when the Gotham picnic is scheduled, I ignore the weather forecast.

Early in the week rain was forecast and some panicked, but I adopted a wait and see attitude.

In my limited experience, I have found that the forecast can be wrong and subject to change. This is sometimes a good thing and sometimes it is a bad thing. Here’s hoping tomorrow’s fair weather forecast is right.

One thing I know for sure, rain or shine, we will have the picnic as there is cover.  Come one come all and enjoy!

Not practical for this mass transit using Manhattanite. Enjoy yourselves.

After 3 hours and 3 trains and the lengthy walk, I wouldn't be my best player.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Looking forward to seeing you at the picnic tomorrow.

I check the weather only at the top of the week to plan my running schedule. Thunder and lightening or a significant snowfall mean running indoors. Other than that, I take whatever the universe provides.

last night I was watvhing the weather and they said it's raining in Egypt. I ran out to put the top up on my car.

Forecasts have been an integral part of my life forever. Aviation forecasts are usually spot on . Hard for the lay person to decipher . Broadcast weather shows I.e the Weather Channel and the network news dramatize weather to a fault . Green , orange , red ! All meant to alarm the viewer and create angst . Fake news . Bordering on the apoplectic. Sound familiar ? The weather channel is the freak’s version of CNN . Glorifying the absurd . They make light drizzle look like Armageddon !

I agree with Neill about the Weather Channel. My daughter and husband were in Hawaii for their honeymoon during the hurricane. I was very nervous and glued to the Weather Channel. On their end, they said it was not bad at all, only a day of rain wherein the hotel gave them complimentary meals and services. So while they were happily enjoying all the free bees, such as a couples massage, coming their way, I was a nervous wreck. I'm not sure what the alternative is but I'm staying away from the weather channel for now.
