Waiting to The Last Minute

I always thought I was a procrastinator. In fact I would say that I had procrastination down to a science. I have come to realize that I am not a procrastinator. In fact, I am actually the opposite; I get my tasks completed early.

The realization came to me recently when I had a substantial set of responsive motion papers due. I had the papers completed and sent out to the other attorney days before they were due. The day the papers were mailed out the attorney called me looking to discuss settlement of the case. He said to me that he thought he could save me the time and effort of drafting the papers. I laughed and told him not only were the papers drafted but they were completed and on the way to his office.

Similarly, my blog is almost always written the Saturday morning before it’s published on the website. This weekend, I couldn’t write it until Sunday night. Waiting to write it until the evening before it was posted was surprisingly stressful for me. Next week I will sidestep the anxiety and make sure I finish my blog on Saturday.

I guess I am not a procrastinator but, rather, an early doer. Which are you?

I am like you because I hate that last minute rush job feeling (although I have not yet written my Friday With Fred blog).

It all depends what it is.

I tend to wait until the last minute even though it goes against my grain of thinking. But I do like to get to an event, dinner, etc early.
