Strolling Down Yearbook Lane

My house is in the middle of two graduations. It’s the thing that happens when your children are four years apart. But, that is not the subject of my blog. I promise, much to follow on those subjects.

As I write this blog, I am sitting here perusing my son’s high school yearbook. I intentionally ordered doubles of both yearbooks. I decided that when I was old and grey (next year . . .) and my children were no longer under my roof, I was going to want to be able to reminisce about their high school and college years and follow their classmates.

I admit that I still have my own high school yearbook and when I want a good laugh, I tour through that book too. Let’s not even talk about hairstyles and dress back in the old days.

Where is your yearbook?

On my shelf downstairs! Every time I run into someone I graduated with I run down to look to see what they looked like back then!

I still have my high school yearbook, luckily. Right before Sandy struck I remembered that my high school yearbook was on a bottom shelf on the lower level of my home. I ran downstairs and put it on a top shelf. So glad I saved it.

I actually found it recently in my storage closet---came in handy when someone pointed out that we had graduated from High School together!

Interestingly in the same very accessible and visible cabinet that contains he bulk of my LPs. If you see the layout it makes sense.

so my yearbook has a story - I kept mine at my office since many of the folks i work with in the design & construction industry went to Brookly Tech with me. When the Trade Center went down so did my beloved book. Unbeknownst to me my family started a search to replace it and finally a classmate donated his to me. I still have the book next to my desk - only missing the signatures of friends and family who are no longer around................

Have every year from 8th grade thru 12th. Since Facebook has brought a lot of us back together, its a really nice resource to have.
