He Said She Said

In Robert Heinlein's mid 20th Century classic "Stranger in a Strange Land" he invented the concept of the "Fair Witness, an individual trained to observe events and report exactly what he or she sees and hears, making no extrapolations or assumptions.  I always thought he should have dubbed them the "Perfect Witness".

Of course, today a good taping system will do the trick.

Why do I raise the concept of the "Perfect Witness"?

I can't count the times I have exclaimed "We need a taping system" after a heated "He said, she said".

I think the "Perfect Witness" might destroy my practice. :)

How about the NSA spying on Americans every personal interaction. The internet, email, phone logs, credit card transactions don' lie. How about the drone's that will soon by flying across the country as well as cameras everywhere. We don't need witnesses any more. Big brother is always watching...

While I have nothing to hide (well, almost nothing!), I really don't like the idea that all my phone calls, credit card purchases, e-mail, etc. is being monitored by "Big Brother". And unfortunately, much of this seems to be happening because of Political Correctness.
