Lunch

There's a TV show in which Sam Waterson portrays the District Attorney in New York City. In one scene he is sitting on a park bench near the courts and Municipal Building having his lunch out of a brown paper bag. A colleague walks by and the District Attorney asked him if he'd like to join him for lunch.

The colleague appropriately enquires about the venue for lunch and the District Attorney replies that when he was a young attorney someone advised him not to eat at his desk.

I admit that I frequently eat at my desk. What about you?

I’m a chronic desk eater. For me, it’s not the best. Working daily to get out a take a walk, helps my brain and my heart.

Unfortunately I have become a continuous grazer therefore unless I have a designated lunch meeting not certain that there’s an actual “lunch“ in my schedule. I have many colleagues though that absolutely leave their offices for lunch. Having vowed to shake things up this spring I’m going to make a concerted effort to make an effort at least one or two days a week to do that, although “lunch“ will hopefully be a walk.

I'm like Cayce, chronic desk eater. Although I do try when I'm at my desk eating to do something other than work, like look at mind numbing web sites like People.com

Sometimes I eat at my desk but if I need a break I move away from it
