3-D

We saw "Black Panther" last week in 3-D and to be honest I think it would've been a better choice to see it in 2-D.  Black Panther

Passing on the quality of the movie which is breaking box office records, the experience was not a pleasant one. The picture was dark and blurry through the glasses and at times when there was no action I took off the glasses and was better able to see the actors.

Yes, when there was action and there was plenty of it, it was somewhat awesome, however, on balance, unless there was something wrong with both of our glasses it was not a positive experience.

To me 3-D is still an imperfect gimmick.

When we saw the movie, we choose 3-D because the show time was more convenient. Seeing it in 3D was not the determining factor.

We saw it in 3D as well; because, given the choice, Jerry always chooses 3D. I don't know it makes a big difference to me. If I'm enjoying a movie, I'll enjoy it whether it's in 3D or 2D. As for "Black Panther", the picture was clear in the theater we saw it.

I enjoy 3D when they have beautiful scenery. Action movies in 3D are too distracting for me.

I prefer 2D as well in most movies. When 3D first came out it was a cool novelty - and I always went to the IMAX which makes a total viewing experience. I saw Black Panther in 2D and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Agreed ! 3-D is STILL and the keyword is STILL an imperfect gimmick . It always has and always will be . The technology just can't seem to overcome whatever is holding it back . That being said the collection from Marvel Cinematic Universe have been absorbing and thought provoking . Michael B Jordan as Erik Kilmonger and Daniel Kaluuya as W'Kabi are fully realized characters and two of the rising black male actors in the Poitier, Washington genre. Cutting back to the chase however . I find 3-D and its cousin IMAX to be distracting at best . I'll take 2-D with spectacular cinematography and surround sound as it stands any day !

I love me some good 3D. However, I agree that some theaters don't know how to set it up properly AND even when its "right", it can be neurologically challenging.
The film is GREAT, so timely, "We have created our own Monster." I loved it. If the "3D" interfered, First, I would get a refund, and second, RUN, don't walk, to see Black Panther again. I'll go with you.
