Perfection!

This topic is inspired by Fred's post on "Failure."  It is the urge, or obsession, that everything has to be just right.

Whenever I get my haircut, and my haircutter Audrey is the best, I return home and carefully examine it.  I see that she missed one little hair, it is sticking out like a flagpole.  I take out my scissors and snip away.  Later, noticing another area that seems a tad too long, I take off another clump.  Having messed up what was fine to begin with, I have to adjust in another spot.

Seeking perfection is a losing battle.

My husband seeks perfection when I try to clean the house. I just can't give it to him. :)

I find it difficult to believe you don't know that you are perfect!

How about "good enough"? Does Audrey know about your "corrections"?

Hate the word "perfect" because it does not exist -- of course, don't tell my husband please because I have been trying to convince him of my perfection for more than 20 years!!

My husband, Alan, is also a perfectionist. It's a good thing I am the perfect wife!

First off, you need to visit Glen Oaks and sample Frank of Ideal Hair Stylist (or brother Joe or son Frankie); never need to make and adjustment and it tends to look good longer than I should go between haircuts.
Perfect is in the eye of those looking.

In the Malaysian culture, a minor flaw is always included on final products so the gods will not be offended, since only the gods are considered capable of producing anything perfect. Some things are worth perfecting, but often good enough is just that— good enough. What’s more, perfectionism—paying unnecessary attention to detail—can be a form of procrastination.
