Where do we go from here

Watching the Olympics last night gave me pause. It was not the pagentry, CGI spectacular, fireworks or even the speeches. It was the symbolic, yet real, unification of North and South Korea marching into the arena under one flag. It was heart warming and hopeful. This not the first time this has happened but it is the first time they will be fielding a hockey team as one country

One Flag

I don't know what will happen post Olympics. Is this the start of a peaceful era or merely a public relations effort by the North to soften the world's perception? My hope is for the former. I choose peace.

Fascinating camera shot of Kim Yo Jong (sister of leader Kim Jong Un) with a smug look on her face when the United States marched in. It's become a meme sensation on Twitter.

The North Koreans are not to be trusted. We must look at their past.

While I certainly do not trust the North Korean leader Pemces interview last night on NBC NIGHTLY NEWSZ Z goves North Korea no choice but to male it a PR choice.

I'm torn. I'm hopeful for peace. But then I think about Otto Warmbier's family and wonder what their thoughts and feelings are.

Good call Rona . Exactly . I've read a lot of Rudyard Kipling in my time , having lived in Southeast Asia. In "The Naulahka A Story of West and East " Kipling tells us through the eyes of Libretto , " Now , it is not good for the Christians health to hustle the Aryan brown, For the Christian riles and the Aryan smiles and he weareth the Christian down . And the end of the fight is a tombstone white with the name of the late deceased . And the epitaph drear a Fool lies here who tried to hustle the East "
To me that says it all . Kim Yo Jung might be a progressive on the right track towards peace but more than likely she is the embodiment of the "Dragon Lady " The Director of Propoganda and Agitation Department of the Worker's Party no less . B E W A R E !!! Fool me Once ? Shame on you . Fool me twice ? Shame on me .

South Korean life is something North Korea's regime does not want its people exposed to; it'll be hard for that to be avoided during the Winter games. Internal pressure albeit it take time can make a difference. Question involves how much time do we have.
