There is a TV show on HBO called Girls that I have likened to watching a car accident.  I understand that my taste might not be everyone's and I can accept that.  What I'm curious about is how badly it makes it's female characters look.

I have wondered if the same exact show were made by a man rather than Lena Dunham, whether women would be screaming bloody murder about the negative portrayal of women.  Has the concept of "likable characters" just gone by the wayside?!?

I have tried to watch it, but can not. Maybe it's generational.

Since the Sopranos ended I really haven't found much interest in HBO. I sat through about 20 minutes of one episode of Girls before putting it on my don't want to watch list. I felt the same way about Game of Thrones which I know you like. That show seemed to me to be about as entertaining as Conan the Barbarian. For some reason I keep going back to the Science Channel lately. I find the show with Morgan Freeman Into the Wormhole always gets into really interesting topics. The Steven Hawking show is also fascinating.

Have not watched it and my only curiosity about the show is that Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer's press secretary Audrey Gelman, who I do not know if I ever met, appears on it and is friends of Dunham. I also know that they filmed in front of my son's place in billysburg and the folks there got kind of nasty that we took longer than they could handle to unload my son and whatever gear he had with him.
The show gives me great hope that my daughter can pen a hit one day.....
