It gets earlier every year.

 

 

I used to comment that the songs, sounds and decorations of the holidays had arrived just after Thanksgiving. I thought that was early.

 

 

Then, all of those came along with Thanksgiving. I thought that was early.

 

 

Have you noticed that holiday decorations are already up around town – and a song or two have been playing on the radio? Now, that’s really early.

 

 

Don't get me wrong -- I am a big fan of the holiday season, so I don’t mind. But do you think we are working towards holiday decorations for Labor Day?

My mother was not a fan of Mothers Day, said the card companies created it to sell cards. As Fred said, business.

Shelly always comments about the ever early advent of holiday “messaging”. From my family being in retail I learned much of the annual profit cam via those seasonal sales. So I understand the business impetus to get it on early.

Earlier and Earlier every year! I really chuckle when I walk into a retail store and see Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Chanukah décor all out at the same time....And yes I've already heard the Christmas songs playing! OY!
