Do you have an axe to grind?

Hey, what do you feel like doing today? I've got it...let's throw some axes. C'mon...

Well if you were in Paris, you could. There's a place called Les Cognees - French for "axes" or "hatchets" - where people can gather after work and pay to hurl heavy edged weapons around. All you need is about $17 and for an hour you can feel like a warrior :)

Les Cognees was created by Thomas Morel, a 30-year-old former financier who saw how much Canadians liked the sport, or game, or pastime, or whatever you might call it. And since Paris is hosting the Olympics in 2024, he wants to make axe-throwing an Olympic sport.

If you're worried about getting an injury, safeguards are in place: no alcohol is served, the blades of the axes are blunted and security measures are read out to participants when they arrive.

I've got the 17 bucks now all I need is some cheap fare to Paris...who's with me?

Lets open one here. Americans have good reason to be angry. Now more than ever.
I guess we'd better wait until our insurance people weigh in with the liability premiums.

Does anyone remember when Ed Ames tried to show Johnny Carson how to throw a "tomahawk"?

Art, I sure do! But whoever's interested doesn't have to go as far as Paris. Check this out in the city of Brotherly Love: https://www.bullseyeaxethrowing.com/

There’s a place in Manhattan called the Wrecking Room, where you throw items at a target at the wall. Good way to release both anger and tension plus lots of laughter.

Sounds better in Paris . I don't like that they dull the blade . I know some bars in Montparnasse where you not only need a sharp blade but can grind your axe all night long . And enjoy pommes frites and champagne for breakfast . No ketchup on the frites or the chef might find another use for your axe .

Oh my goodness, I just looked up some of the placed mentioned and others popped up as well. I don't quite think I want to smash appliances (wrecking room) but it certainly beats the stress eating I have been doing these past few months (never stress ate in my life before). Perhaps kickboxing may be a bit safer.

NY1 news on Thursday morning broadcast a segment about a place you go to to smash things throwing them to a wall or against the ground or taking a sledgehammer to it.
