Judge Rises

In July I blogged about my Obsession with 6'7" 282 pound Yankee rookie Aaron Judge and my perception that, post All Star Game and his Home Run Derby win, he was losing his batting mojo and my related frustration.

His post All Star game  .179 batting slump inexplicably continued for an agonizing 6 week period.  Then September arrived and Judge seemingly flipped a switch and suddenly was on super nova fire again.

To date he has blasted 13 homers in September to pass Mark McGuire for the rookie record for home runs.

50!

With so many amazing things swirling around him, the most amazing thing of all is the dignified, even keel manner with which he dealt with and weathered his down right poor spell.  Amazing!

He is not too good to be true.  He is truly good!

Evan though I am a Met fan you have to admire the way the Yankees manage their young players - on and off the field.

We all hit slumps, it's human. The ability to rebound is what keeps us moving forward.

He's the real deal all the way around. The Yankees are a year or 2 ahead of schedule due to him, the infusion of young exciting players and the work of Brian Cashman. I don't expect a llot in this post season, but this team is built to be very good for years to come.

Track Wall See Ya ! Once again Yankee Stadium will see October baseball . At least for one night . Why ? Because of guys like Aaron Judge . What a roll model ! Doesn't get any better . It brings me back to the rookie year of the Commerce Comet . # 7 . Still my favorite number . But even the Mick with his tape measure blasts didn't have the exit velocity and stature of Aaron Judge . Sacrelgious to even utter those words right ? Yeah .... It leaves me stunned . Nobody will ever replace what the Mick did for me as a kid ! And now with The Judge and The Cracken and Byrd and Castro . Fraziers and Hicks and Didii , Jake and Gardy ! A rockin ' ' bullpen and starting pitching to take them into the seventh . I think we got something . One game playoffs are scary . But the Yanks are in the Zone ! October baseball in the Bronx . Don't get any better . GETCHA BEEAH HEEAH !
