My Top Five

Rona’s blog made me think about summer.

Summer is by far my favorite season. It is just slower with relaxation just built in. Here are my top five summertime favorites:

1. A quiet beach

2. A tall, sweet iced coffee with lots of milk

3. Sitting outside in my backyard with a good book on my kindle

4. A super cold glass of Moscato (sorry David and Paul)

5. Great barbeque

Of course, the goal is to figure out how to do as many of the above in the same day as possible.

And I thought it was all about the food. :)

For me, summer is also about vacations (and now camp for my kid). With school aged kids, its hard to go away most any other time of the year without spending a fortune during a holiday. So at this point of our lives, we choose to go away during the hot season. While our son is at camp, it is kind of a vacation too, even though we miss him, we can go, when and where we want to without it being "kids" friendly. When he gets back, we take our annual family vacation (usually to just as hot Florida).

Agree on your choices wth addition of concerts and reading would be on my Mac or iPad.
Try Iced Coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 and if brewed Franjelica it can even be black depending on mood.
Any good wine or nice ale would suffice depending on mood and fare.
It was nice just to sit in the yard early this morning for breakfast.
And of course a couple of forays to Citifield
