I met Bill a few months ago. Or, I should say, I reconnected with Bill at our 50th High School reunion a few months ago. When I heard that Bill played golf, I parked that bit of information in the back of my mind in anticipation of Gotham's annual golf outing. As the Golf outing, which was held on Monday, approached, I thought of Bill and invited him to join our foursome. Although it would be a long trip from New Jersey, Bill enthusiastically agreed. It was no surprise that Bill would be late on Monday. However, his call about 15 minutes before tee-off time was not expected. His car didn't start and he now had a loaner. He considered not making the trip. Although he was late, we decided that he'd join us on the course whenever he got there. After our round of golf - Bill missed about four holes - I made sure that Bill got his goodie bag and door prize raffle. As he collected these, he was asked whether he wanted to participate in the 50-50. He bought a few tickets. When they called the winning numbers for the 50-50, Bill shouted in glee. A big smile as he collected his share. It was a wonderful day of golf. Another great Gotham event. For Bill -- Better late than never and worth the trip from anywhere!
