The Perfect Squelch

Recently I met a young artist (photo above) at an Art Opening and while making conversation I bragged about a one mile open water swim I had just accomplished.  Her response was that she had swum around the island.  Taken aback, I asked her how long her swim was and she said 12 miles.  Nearly speechless, I came back with "That's nearly as far as the English Channel".  That's when she completely bowled me over, saying "I did that last year".

I was so impressed, so deflated, so squelched! Short of climbing Mount Everest, she had done it all.  To maintain some sense of sanity, I asked her if she had conquered Everest and she replied, matter of factly, " Not yet".

There is a wonderful sobering lesson here:  I need to start serious training!

Cayce Crown

But has she started a networking organization/family/TRIBE that changed the the world in a significant, positive way, that is only getting better at what it does?? You're the uber trainer. Everest-schmeverest. You've moved mountains at Gotham.

It's wonderful to always want to improve oneself, it's also a great thing when someone like Cayce acknowledges your achievements. Not an easy goal trying to help others achieve their personal best which is something I think Gotham tries to do. And as an aside, I believe I recall a recent discussion about a three generational softball game?

I learned that what we accomplish is highly determined by the way we think: are we moved by our very own accomplishments or the way we impact others' lives? Has this person's accomplishments influenced others positively as Gotham Family has been doing for 20 years with a long lasting legacy significant and positive impact?

Brother ! Recently I'm back to two a days 4 days a week and one a day 3 days . Running marathons and open water swimming while totrtuous has to take a back seat as everything does to Everest. If I was able , considering my post stroke recovery that would be number one on my bucket list . We are talking HARD WORK there . It's never too late . It would be something I could aspire to . A good way to max out my 401 K . See you at the Summit Derf !

I could be your Sherpa
Corey Bearak

Can she play full court?
Can she pitch softball, bat, play in the field?
It's all relative.
Rona Gura

Can she co-found a networking group as huge as Gotham??? As Corey said, all relative.
