"Water is the essential building block of life. But it is more than just essential to quench thirst or protect health; water is vital for creating jobs and supporting economic, social, and human development.

Today, there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home, spending countless hours queuing or trekking to distant sources, and coping with the health impacts of using contaminated water." - un.org

Today is World Water Day. March 22, 2017.

663 MILLION people who don't just get up in the morning and turn on the tap.

Who don't have showers or baths or toilets that flush.

In India, the goal is "Open Defecation Free By 2019."

We have no idea, unless we travel, just exactly how differently other people live.

And, no surprise, gratitude has a huge effect on the molecular structure of water :

Let's stop and take a moment to feel just how fortunate we are and spread a bit of that gratitude to others on this World Water Day. In fact, we are extra lucky in NYC, because our water makes the best pizza and bagels!

And enjoy a nice tall glass of plain old water.

Water is life, and clean water means health. - Audrey Hepburn, UNICEF Ambassador

So interesting. My daughter actually just mentioned that she recently finds herself marveling in the fact that she just turns the faucet and there is water. Glad she recognizes the privilege of her world. Unfortunately our neighborhood does require triple filtration to ensure usable water.

This is such an important issue that I am directly involved in raising money to fund the building of a well in South Sudan with my lovely partner and awesome 6th grade teacher Mary Nelson. Please help support the kids of Spring Glen Elementary by clicking here to donate to the building of the well -- https://www.crowdrise.com/spring-glen-schools-iron-giraffe-challenge

My got to water song - https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2009/08/poco-blue-water-fools-gold-rocky-mountain-breakdown.html -- and not the one called Water song which is excellent as well. And here's some work I did to to protect water: http://coreybearak.com/projects/boro-pres/Clean_Water_Law_proposed_8-25-01.pdf

We too like so many others filter our water. So much rust and sediment. I like Zero water filtration.
