Words to the Wise III

Categories
Lifestyle

As the final installment of my Juice Plus insert trilogy, today's subject is enhancing physical health and longevity.

In order to do so, try to get more of these three good things.

1. Sleep. Get at least seven hours of shut eye a tonight. Research shows people who sleep that much weigh less, get sick less often, have lower blood pressure, remember better, and even live longer than those who get less!  (I average nearly 8).

2. Exercise. Take a short, brisk walk every day. Did you know that walking briskly for just 25 minutes daily can add 7 years to your life and slash your risk of dying from a heart attack in half?  (I do something every day and when not walking am swimming or biking).

3. Whole Foods.  Start by replacing empty calories with fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Fun fact: folks who eats lots of fruits and veggies have better heart health, a lower incidence of cancer, and sharper vision than those who eat little to none.  (This is not my strongest area, but I am mindful and trying, e.g. taking Juice Plus supplements daily).

My goal is to live to 100.  Won't you join me?

10 square sounds cool; edited to note the pic suggests a slap hitter.

I'm with you! My plan has always been to stay healthy and enjoy life as long as possible. Being an active 100 year old sounds like a great goal.

As of this moment number three is the only thing that I do but my goal is to try to accomplish number one and number two as well. Not so much to reach 100 but to enjoy the years I do have.

I'm going for 120 myself. Always tweaking the plan. Always room for improvement.

I know a guy who was told that if he ever ate any dairy products he would die. The next day he got hit by a truck.... A milk truck.

It just occurred to me that you may not get the most comments but you give the most replies.

If anyone's having trouble sleeping, try incorporating meditation into your daily habits. 10 minutes a day can do wonders

All good points and here is:
#4. Dog. Dogs are loving and lovable and provide immense joy. If possible, adopt an adult dog from a shelter, but puppies are okay as long as you have time & patience for them. Having a dog is a lifetime commitment.

Fred, I love that you enjoy the educational materials that come with your JP! I enjoy the that my business is about more than selling a product; there is an educational component too. It's fun and rewarding to share healthy options with people I care about so we can all grow old and die young!

Looks like a pull hitter to me Corey. Something down the line and into the corner. So ..... I'll come from a different angle . Getting to the Century Club takes a lot of mobility and activity to get there . It's a work in progress for me these days . It remains a top priority . But this is my angle : being in the best shape of your life allows one to shake off some serious stuff ! Take it from an expert . It's much easier to get back up off the canvas after a knockout punch if you enter the ring in top shape to begin with . Stay tuned up ! It's tough to get fixed if you were broken to start with . KEEP MOVING !
