2016 Goods

For me 2016 was a very good year.  Some highlights:

Joanne and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary.

We visited Cuba.  A once in a lifetime, never again experience.

Gotham held its best event in it's, about to be, 20 year history; author Tom Rinaldi's Red Bandanna book celebration of Welles Remy Crowther at a Gotham Book Club lunch at the Friars Club.  So moving!

The Gotham Batmen softball team finished in First Place and I got to play with my son David (next year it will be 3 generations as grandson Jackson joins us).

Ken Granieri's reaction upon learning he was the 2016 recipient of Gotham's highest honor, the Red Bandanna Award, and his continuing expressions of appreciation of it.

Jackson got into the college of his choice.

I make amends with a long lost dear friend.

I'm healthy, vibrant and still in the traffic!

Beautiful. . . . :)
It was a special year for us too. Hard to believe I married my knight in shining armor almost one year ago in January 2016. So blessed. ❤❤ Goods indeed! :)

Fred,
I received the red bandanna that you sent me. I will keep it with the award in a place where I can see each day. It brings a smile to my face each time I see. Such a special honor Definitely made 2016 a year I'll never forget!

Sounds like a great year. I am tying to have a more positive one myself this year.

Your list of things that made the year so special for you are a testament to what makes you so special.
Dana Charlton

I agree with Marilyn Genoa's comment. Among other things, 2016 marked my 45th year working for you and the firm, and my oncologist promoting me to the Survivorship Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Cayce Crown

So happy to have shared some of these with you. My red bandanna is on my Vision Board to remind me to go above and beyond (to say the least). 2016 was great for me as well, and I KNOW that 2017 will be even better despite the surprise in November. I am inspired by all the good that is rising up and becoming visible. Thanks for what you've created.

Great blog. Your list is just another example of what makes Gotham so special.

Perspective . Relativity. It was the beginning of 2016 and I was in the initial stages of recovery from a TBI . A traumatic brain injury . My very attractive Physical Therapist asked me at our first session " What is your goal ?" Ahhhh... At a rare loss for words and sensing a stirring in my loins I stammered and said "I'd like to walk again !" But what was it I really wanted to say ? Fast forward til today . I drove to the neuro gym at Dignity Health in Santa Cruz California , walked in , did 20 on the Ellyptical and 20 on the bike ...... Walked out and drove home via a haircut and beard trim. Alone . So in my own selfish way I feel triumph. 2016 brought me a new grandson and two new daughters - in - law . A son who is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps ! A wife who tirelessly has picked up where I left off so shame on me for mentally straying at the get go ladies . There never has been another option for me since my accident but to get things into perspective and be a positive roll model for those who I hold close to my heart !
