How Do We make It Stop?
On Saturday morning, I had thought of a fun blog idea. Running out to an appointment, I decided to set the idea aside and write the blog on Sunday morning.
Then, on Saturday, the explosions in Chelsea and New Jersey occurred as well as the stabbings in Minnesota. And, with that, thoughts of a fun blog flew out of my head. And, I immediately went into what I have begun to call “crisis mode,” mentally going through in my head where my loved ones might be to ensure they were safe and turning on CNN for update sas to what was happening.
My emotional response to all of these incidents, Paris, Belgium, San Bernardino, Orlando, has been mostly the same: sadness. Each time, I wonder what sort of world we are passing onto our children and grandchildren?
And I wonder, how do we as people, make this a better world for our children? I don’t ask this as a political question but, rather, as a human question. Today I am not thinking about my support for one candidate over the other but just wondering how do we all come together as people to just stop the bloodshed?
Perhaps next week I will write a fun blog. I hope so.

I dropped John off in Sheepshead Bay to retrieve his car...the amount of police presence there and on the Belt was more than I have ever seen...
It wasn't until I was home that when I logged onto FB and saw a message from a councilman in Bay Ridge, explaining what we witnessed earlier....how do I react?,my gut reaction=-fear.
Corey, I agree---it's very difficult when you cannot control your surroundings..even the ones where you are the most comfortable.
