It's a dog's (Dad's) world

As a parent, there will always be a moment (or several) where your children will want a dog. You may or may not like dogs. You may even be allergic to them. What you do know is that having one is a lot of work.

One father created this ingenious and really funny contract for his kids to sign before they could get a dog. (BTW, the dad posted this on Reddit)

Family Dog Contract

Where's Mom in all of this?? I love my Colby. But she violates #4 every single day.

Are you kidding? This dad should have only stuffed animal toys, not real animals. There is no love for animals present in this contract - not even any tolerance. It's only funny if this guy does NOT really mean it. Otherwise any dog in that house will end up in a shelter, and I wouldn't trust that he make sure it is a no-kill shelter. I say, send the guy to a shelter - let a dog in. PS all dogs shed, some less than others.

As I sit here with two dogs sleeping nearby, my daughter's cat somewhere close at hand (cat sitting for the summer while she is in New York for an internship because her sublet didn't take cats) clearly the "contract" was intended as a joke. Surgically removed feet? Toxic chemicals to clean accidents? If he was serious my house would make him convulse---especially my guy's diets.
