Time Flies

We spent Mother’s Day celebrating with my cousin’s family. For the first time in as long as I can remember there were young children in the room.

Lots of noise, lots of running, lots of things flying across the room and lots of fun.

It was striking to me that my family doesn’t have little ones any more. Our youngest cousin is going to turn 15. She’s the baby.

We still have lots of noise and lots of fun but it’s a different experience without the little ones.

Quite honestly, it made me a little sad.

When people tell you to appreciate every moment because time flies, it’s true.

We spent Mother's Day in the hospital with my mother-in-law. Two of my sisters-in-law were talking about how busy 2017 is going to be with weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and new babies. When I asked who was pregnant, they said no one; but listed off nieces and nephews who got married the last couple of years who they expected would be pregnant next year. :)

I was at a Yashar dinner last evening and a theme of one of the Honoree's speeches was exactly that, appreciate every minute. It is very true. Time moves very quickly, although we tell ourselves we need to savor every moment somehow we tend to forget.

Time does fly! I was thinking how my son used to make me presents for Mother's Day when he was a little boy, and now we are having dinner with him and his girlfriend. I hope to see grandchildren one day!
