Fallen

Another fall from grace. Another moment to reflect upon those who have been in positions of power, or positions of public admiration and fallen.
Dennis Hastert, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and second in succession for the presidency, was sentenced to more than one year in prison for violating banking laws in a hush money scheme to cover-up alleged sexual abuses.
We recently saw Phylicia Rashad in “Head of Passes” a remarkable performance at the Public Theatre. As I watched, I couldn't help but recall her days as Clair Huxtable on the Cosby Show, and how she and her former co-star, Bill Cosby, have come to such different places.
One is realizing every potential, the other losing everything.
A juxtaposition on the human experience.

People need to have good mentors and listen to them

I'm with Fred. These little boys were not listening.

Hastert admitted to the sexual abuse. He should have been in jail a long time ago and for much longer.

Not sure anyone really cared to the former failed speaker; wish no one ill. Bottom line: uphold the public trust or face the consequences.

Keep in mind Phylicia Rashad has spoken publicly for Bill Cosby, putting herself on the line. That could not have been an easy decision.

I agree with every comment above!
