Thoughtless or Thoughtful

When Reilly Flaherty came home from a Wilco concert in Brooklyn he realized he’d lost his wallet.

I know...not unusual. However, the really interesting part happened a bit later.

“Two weeks later, this crazy envelope just shows up,” said Flaherty. The letter read “Dear Reilly Flaherty, I found your wallet and your driver’s license. Had your address. So here’s your credit cards and other important stuff.”

Thoughtful and nice but the letter continued: “I kept the cash because I needed weed, the Metro Card because, well, the fare’s up $2.75 now, and the wallet ‘cause it’s kinda cool.” The letter ended with "Toodles."

Reilly posted the letter on social media, writing, “Thanks...I think.” He also said “The ironic thing is that we could have been good friends, we both like Wilco, indie music, same taste in wallets.”

Thoughtless or thoughtful...you decide :)

Thought(full) or less than full and more like less .? Fred's right with the screw loose theme ! You got what counts back but were still violated. But not by the nut job. I would have drawn him out with the promise of a free dinner with Wilco and then kicked his crazy ass !

Many might have offered a cash award upon its return.
At the end of the day be happy no need to get a replacement license and deal with getting credit cards and perhaps changing account #s for various auto pay accounts.

Thoughtful. I'd be thankful to get back the cards.that would be more of a hassle to replace than cash or a wallet.

I just lost my driver's license last week, while out East...
I think it's thoughtful--and actually funny. I would give anything to have the important stuff back!
BTW...I'm still wating for my license to be returnec--VIA MAIL.
