Making Memories

Categories
Lifestyle

I try not to live in or dwell on the past.  I seek to be in the moment and make my memories.

Memories like my recent trip to Cuba where everything was old, but new to me.  A unique entry into the Twilight Zone.  You never get a second chance to make or have a positive first impression and realizing that I wallowed in the moment.

The Lesson learned is to try to be more adventurous and risk anxiety and insecurity which are conditions which plague me.

Same old same old is just that.

Yes yes yes!
Keep taking risks and having great adventures.
Life is too short to waste on same old same old.

You only regret the things you didn't do!

Fred, you always encourage personal growth and never let same old be same old!
You do subscribe to the fact you can never go into the same river twice

"Aikman Touchdown Unbelievable!"I have another take on this ! Since my cardio-vascular accident August 29 I have been the welcome recipient of random flashbacks to episodes in my past. Tennis on the pristine clay courts in Luanda ,Angola .Orange Pancakes at The Peninsula in Hong Kong . Teddy Wilson at the piano in the hotel bar at the Pierre . Peter Luger's in Brooklyn and Le Tour D'Argent in Paris. The flashbacks are welcome, random and keep coming . Until I can begin to collect new and spectacular memories again my brain is allowing me to dwell in the past in the form of temporary respite. So random yet so real. As I move towards recovery I anticipate the memories to be just as spectacular but more realistic. Like those of the beautiful young grandson that I am so lucky to know and hold . The beautiful safety of being married to a woman that has been by my side during a very challenging chapter!

I'm with you. Even though I have a huge (irrational) fear of flying I never let it stop me. And I take advantage of every travel opportunity I can.
