Last week our 9 year old grandson sent home the following letter:Dear Mom, At challenge course I fell on a rock on my hand. At soccer, I got tackled like in tackle football and got kicked in the face. I don't know will happen in the next 3 periods. How are you doing?Perfect!Brilliant!
I have found this to be true for me lately, but not in such a "material" way.
As Corey's pal, Robert Zimmerman sings, "Keep your eyes wide, the chance won't come again."
We are surrounded by treasures, take time to look around and breathe in all that you see.
My son is taking Drivers’ Ed this summer and very much looking forward to being able to drive. (How that happened in the blink of any eye is the subject for another blog. He was just in nursery school yesterday. I promise.)
Happy July 4th Gotham!! It’s officially summer. And with the hot weather, my “drink of choice” changes. In the winter, during a weekend diner, I almost always order a glass of white wine. During the summer, however, my drink of choice changes. During the summer, I generally crave a cold, crisp rosé.
A lot of life here revolves around a gym. And not just playing basketball one weekend morning and one weekday eve. Much of our social life involves dining out and socializing with those I play ball with; it follows a “path' from my youth; we made plans at school and after school in the school yard, or in regular gatherings in the courtyard our home fronted on.
This made me smile...India is creating a Ministry of Happiness.
This new Ministry will oversea 70 programs. These include, not suprisingly, Yoga, spirituality and the arts. India is not the first country to do so with the UAE and Venezuela having already started happiness bureaus. Even Nicholas Sarkozy, during his tenure as the French President, wanted to introduce a happiness index as an alternative to GDP growth.
You can't make this stuff up!A while back I was minding my own business when I received an out of the blue call from someone who claimed his father had died and that he went to the Department of Motor Vehicles to turn in his dad's car plates. He claimed he discovered later that a one digit mistake had been made and that rather than his father's, my vehicle registration had been canceled.
