It’s January 8th  as I write this. I am putting away some of the generous holiday gifts I received. Included in those gifts are two planners/journals.  They are very pretty and  beautifully crafted. The question is, for me, whether I will use them.
When I started to use Zoom, the inability to use virtual backgrounds for my meeting gnawed at me. When I upgrade “Early 2015” MacBook Pro late last year, I looked forward to using virtual backgrounds and uploaded images that reflected the organization involved in the Zoom. I have images for SNAP (Services Now for Adult Persons)
It's a winter wonderland :) I enjoy the change of the seasons and especially the first significant snow.   Although, as usual, the first snow arrives with complaints. Well if you're complaining, you might want to think of moving. I like living here and experiencing each season as it comes and goes.    It's one the alluring aspects of living in the Northeast.
The thing that makes me most anxious is flying :(Not the fear of flying (crashing), but the days before agony of worrying about COVID, the weather, cancellations, delays or diversion.  The sleepless night before.
We were staying at a new hotel in Woodstock New York. An escape weekend in the Catskills. The room was modern, overlooking a brook fed by a waterfall framed nicely in the room’s window. The television was a challenge. All the streaming channels were available - provided you had an account and remembered your password. For the life of me, I couldn’t find the traditional network stations or regular cable.
Covid has slowed down our attendance of concerts, theater, dance, opera, museums, and movies.  But, beyond television and music, books remain a wonderful way to explore the world and examine ourselves in the comfort of home. Recently, the New York Times celebrated the unique Book Review Section that began as a weekly insert of the Sunday Times in 1895.  Readers were asked to nominate the best books of the past 125 years.  Thousands of choices were made and a decision was made to only include one book by a given author in the top 25.
I have been trying to move to an almost paperless office for a while now. Prior to Covid, all of my court filings, were on paper. Covid changed that. Now all of my court filings are electronic. It has made the switch-over to a paperless file a lot easier.
As is traditional I shared my top ten shows of the past year on my website commentary page.   Check it out for the details but here goes:
