As bloggers we are supposed to refrain from writing about political issues. In fact, I had another blog written to be posted for today. But the topic seemed trivial considering what we are witnessing happen in Ukraine. And so, I cannot stop myself from sharing my feelings about the horrors that are occurring in Ukraine.
Saturday’s Gotham blogger and websmaster last week inspired this commentary.   Quite simple it involves 85 tunes. Across 1/4 of a day!
Yesterday, Fred identified a positive result of social media in today's crazy world. It's ability to shine a spotlight on what is happening right in the middle of an invasion and the rise of an unlikely leader.   But there's so much more of what's happening inside of social media, particularly Facebook.
Whatever the pluses and minuses may be, Social Media has potent, unprecedented power.   How else could Zelensky have bravely proclaimed for all the World to hear and admire “I need ammunition, not a ride”? Nobel Peace Prize!
I am waiting on line for a bagel and coffee. It’s a wait.
It seems that people and the media talk up the MOMA and the MET frequently. But, the MCNY does not receive much notice or attention.  The Museum of the City of New York has a lot to offer beyond the fabulous building on Fifth Avenue at 103rd st.   The museum celebrates all things New York City,  The people, the art, the architecture, the music, etc. are all examined beautifully.  A fascinating documentary on the city’s history is part of the permanent exhibit.
I have a new grand puppy.  His name is Hudson.  He is an energetic, adorable and affectionate puppy who likes to play.  I am a little obsessed – and I haven’t even met him in person yet. I am even sharing Hudson pictures with family and friends.
I recently had the occasion  to try two new, small local business. The first was a coffee shop, Wired Coffee, that recently opened near our train station. I really enjoyed my coffee as well as my conversation with the owner. He was very knowledgeable and proud of  his coffee, as it is home roasted.  Along with my cold brew, I happily purchased a bag of roasted coffee. I will definitely be back to have more of his coffee and to try  his “real food.”
