Last week I blogged about superstition and negative Jinxes.  This week is the flip side: superstition and good luck charms.
We were nearby and had an hour before dinner at a restaurant we haven’t been to in over two years. So, we decided to take a walk to the hotel on West 48th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. We have a long history with the hotel and had stayed there many times over the years.
The HBO standout series, “The Wire” hit its 20th anniversary this month.  Remembrances, highlights, interviews, and accolades for the show are ubiquitous.  The press, traditional media, and social media have taken a deep dive into the continued relevance of the series that ran for 5 years.  
Some of you may already know (well really, if you’ve spent a minute with me recently I’m sure you know because I’ve been busting with pride).   
My youngest daughter, Sydney, got engaged last Friday night. While my husband and my other children knew it was happening, it was a surprise for Sydney.   Interestingly, after it happened and we spoke to the happy couple, I found myself in a race against social media. We wanted to call/text those closest to us before they saw the news on Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat. In some cases, the race was really close.  
Marisa always liked take your daughter to work day.  She enjoyed coming to work with dad and participating in the activities there. Fast forward to the present and it almost feels like we reversed roles. I shared with Marisa the early invite I received to the attend the 2022 State of the Borough Address by the Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, and she promptly registered to attend; it made sense in her role as Assistant Director at AJC (American Jewish Committee) New York.
A guinea pig has created a world record, as confirmed by Guinness World Records, by achieving the most basketball slam dunks in 30 seconds by a guinea pig. The animal is called Molly, and lives in Dombóvár, Hungary, with her owner Emma Müller.    Speaking to Guinness, Müller says that Molly has a huge passion for sport and other activity. “Molly absolutely loves to play basketball” she said.   Maybe the Knicks should draft her...
There are thoughts I think which I would never say out loud for fear of Bad Luck or jinxing myself.
