Since I blog on Thursdays, I have the honor of continuing the annual tradition of wishing the Gotham family a very Happy Thanksgiving. May we surround yourselves - in person and in spirit - with those we love.... and give thanks ......
“Almost Famous” and “Kimberly Akimbo” recently opened on Broadway to very different critical receptions.
OK, Rona started this conversation yesterday -- and then today it turned personal, yet again.   Bill has COVID.  He was the last hold out in our family – and now I’m stuck on what to do with the 17 pound turkey defrosting in my refrigerator.
Have you had Covid?  If so, what were your symptoms?    I first noticed on Saturday that I was slightly congested, had a mild cough, and I felt tired. When I woke up on Sunday, given the symptoms and the fact that I was out of the country recently, I thought I should be vigilant and take a home COVID test.
As the week began I received an email from my friend and Gotham colleague Amparo Connors who runs an employee placement firm (temps and permanent); Amparo reached out to those she usually sends holiday/season’s greetings/ new year wishes concerning the intended token.
While waiting in the lobby of a movie theater, it dawned on me we have a new standard of the fashion accessory...the cell phone.   Properly held in one hand while standing anywhere, the cell phone can be covered in a variety of colors to match or contrast your outfit. The color black makes a fashion statement that is classically chic and sophisticated.
After 53 fruitful years with the same law firm, I am embarking on a new adventure with my Partners Joan Rothermel, Jane Jacobs  and Nancy Schess (plus our associate Brian Gordon and indispensable Matt Bost). We are joining the prestigious, full service mid town firm of Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, LLP.
One day , many, years ago, when I first started practicing law, the younger attorneys in the firm met in a conference room to hear words of wisdom from the founder of the firm.He told us that the most important thing to remember in the practice of law was to always respond to a client within one day after a client called.
