Dangerous Television

Well, not really dangerous in the technical sense of the word.

When I am at the gym, I am partial to a particular bicycle. Not because of its speed or comfort but because it is situated closest to the television where Planet Fitness plays its infomercial channel. I admit to being an infomercial addict.

When I was younger, I bought all of my makeup from television. The packages in the mail were actually pretty exciting. Since then I have developed a gadget attraction. I own the best grilled cheese maker that I bought on tv, but it’s buried in a closet now. Have you tried the microwave spaghetti gadget? It is amazing – actually, I haven’t tried it yet but it looks amazing. My potato slicer came from a television ad. I actually like that gadget. And shall we talk about my Chillow? Anyone know what that is? And seriously, I am completely intrigued by the Eggstractor.

OK, who will make a confession here amongst your friends? Have you ever bought anything from a TV infomercial? Come on Gotham – I don’t really think I am alone on this.

Yes I recently bought the reusable bags that hook on a shopping cart. I have only used it once so far, but I think I like it!

Remember the days when we placed catalog orders at 1:00 in the morning?

Years ago a coworker and I bought an exercise machine and we kept it in my office, so we would both use it. For a week we were dedicated and then well you know... by the end of the year it was sold to someone else.

I did buy a few scratch repair kits for the car. None of them ever came close to doing what they promised to do. I am intrigued but rarely order. The first thing I do when interested, is Google the product. You are then sure to find the real scoop by many people who already forked over the $19.99 plus processing as the Guiney pigs. They are entertaining if you need to kill time.

Next I'll read you watch QVC and other shopping networks.....
Bought a knife sharpener but some Knights lost it -- never got returned after their golf outing two years ago. If I have not seen it yet and the "show" includes a music celeb I have not yet seen interviewed, I might watch one of those shows hawking compilations I'll not buy -- usually I have most of what I'd like. On one program recently, Tommy James was was one of the hosts (probably to promo his book which he hopes to turn into a movie).

I bought something called "Ruggies" They are small triangles that are sticky on both sides. One side sticks to the hardwood step the other to the stair tread rug. Rug stays in place so you don't fall down the stairs and no damage to the wood step. Love em!
