My Dream World Series

As a lifetime NY Yankee fan I have been called out by many for being hypocritical (or worse) for wearing a Met hat and colors while chanting "Let's Go Mets!"

Well, there is a back story and a method to my madness.

First the back story:  I have been a Met fan too, since their 1962 inception, had Met season tickets (which explains my son's Met fandom) and helped my Artist wife Joanne win Banner Day at Shea Stadium in 1964 (pictured).

Now that the Mets have punched their ticket to the next round on Lindor's clutch slam (see my 10/4 "I Was Wrong!" Blog about him) and with the Yankees win late last night, they clinches too.   We are one step closer!!!

The method to my seeming madness is that I'm rooting for Yankee/Met World Series at which time I will reveal my true colors!

It would be great to see that match up. In my case, likely from my phone catching the scores with my superstition in full effect. .

While it would mean the Tigers have to wait until next year, I'm a NYCER and a Yankee/Met World Series would be terrific! And I'm pretty sure we all know your true colors ... pretty sure, not 100%

Let that happen and enjoy the greatness of NYC baseball again. Hope it's a better World Series than in 2000! May the better team win.

We know you'll choose blue + white pinstripes. Bring back Clemens.

Should be in HOF!

I'm all in for a subway series. Time for the Mets to avenge their loss in 2000. Still have nightmares about Timo Perez's baserunning blunder in game 1.

I concur and would Love a 7 game WS with the Yankees coming out on top resulting from an Aaron Judge bottom of the 9th inning homerun of 'Sugar" Diaz!!!

It is already fun to have both teams this far in the post season and I hope they both go all the way to the World Series. This Mets team is amazing!

I wonder if you sat near us back in the 60's. My father's company had season tickets to Shea. I had a Mr. Met doll that all of the 69 Mets signed. When they moved to Florida my mom threw the doll away. If only I had that doll now. . .
