A Newsworthy Resolution

I don’t think of it as a resolution. I think of it as self-defense.
I am determined to cut back on the news, especially the political news. With the upcoming election and the incessant coverage of every twist turn speculation and prediction, I am convinced that the news is bad for my health.
My hope is that  I can become a compliant patient.

Agree, It's not easy to do. But, seems the news is on rinse and repeat. Each show talks about the SOS.
Other things to do that are more enjoyable and stimulating.

In the perspective perhaps pursuit of simplicity crying back on the news can be welcomed, even healthy.

I read, watch (online), and listen to alternative news sources. Majority Report Mon- Fri podcasts, Novara Media out of the UK also M-F, Between the Lines w Scott Harris on WPKN radio, Daily Pnut daily news report, NYT morning overview, local online news - CTNewsJunkie and New Haven Independent, and whatever else falls into my lap. Plus various email updates and "social media" posts from friends and a few enemies.

It is certainly exhausting, but also exhaustive!

Addendum: I stay away from Television and most magazines, though my spouse keeps me up-to-date with some magazine from MIT - where he didn't go to school - and Current Affairs magazine. And I do crossword puzzles. Those are usually full of news events.
