Resolution's

Its that time of year again. Typically on New Years or in the days (maybe weeks) to follow you give yourself a New Years Resolution. Many people decide they are going to start to go to the gym again and for the month of January the gym's are packed, then in February less and March less again. Last year I gave myself a New Years resolution and for the 2023 year I stuck to it 90 % of the time. I decided to give up soda. I now drink 10 times more water, almost always water at lunch and dinner. If not water I treat myself to the sugary ice teas (Snapple or Arnold Palmer) The only times I have had soda is during social events. Since I do not drink alcohol I typically have a soda, you might have noticed at the Gotham holiday party.  I feel a few pounds leaner for sure, I'm still trying to figure out something for 2024. What your New Years resolution?

Good Man Shawn, soda is a killer for sure! It will be easier to keep weight off without the soda and you can have cheat days/meals without feeling guilty. Am on day 2 of my diet, not easy! Keep up the good work my friend!!

I used to drink a Diet Coke every day and also a lot of Crystal Light Iced Tea. Gave all that up for water a few years ago. Will occasionally have an unsweetened iced tea outside the house and probably don't drink more than four glasses of soda a year. For resolutions, as noted on prior blogs this week, one is to read these blogs more timely and comment more often. Another, - after spending a day cleaning up my multiple work email folders for all the email addresses that I maintain as well as the "catch all" folder on my computer - is to stay on top of that and delete more frequently.

Bravo Shawn!!! It is said that we are only as young or as fit as our blood vessels...and our mitochondria. What we put in our bodies is as important as what we take out. I gave up soda several years ago, an only a handful of times will I drink it if at a function. Best thing for your health. Even diet soda is bad as the chemicals used to sweeten them are worse than sugar for your health. No resolutions for me. Just intentions as Fred would say.
