Black Coffee or not

Black Coffee starts the title of one of my fave tunes as well as the title of this blog.  A few weeks back we dined at our son's and coffee followed via his espresso machine.  Well Shelly decided she wanted one and dutiful daughter helped her mom place the order.  The device arrived ahead of the weekend and our son, Jonathan and daughter-in-law Carrie visited to help Shelly properly set it up.  It also required a drive to pick up Coffee Beans; grinded beans are part of the equation.  It makes coffee, americano, espresso, latte' and cappuccino.  Should be fun.  It replaces a k-cup.

Joanne grinds beans too and I drink mine Black.

I have been drinking black coffee for several years now as I try to avoid dairy on a daily basis. K cups are so convenient buy nothing beats brewed coffee for overall taste and a propper caffine pick me up I often crave.

We use the K-cup during the week and on weekends, I use the French Press. There is a huge difference in taste. The French pressed coffee is so smooth. We recently bought, after seeing it at our daughter's house, a Keurig that also makes espresso and cappuccino and steams and froths the milk. All done with the touch of a button. So, on weekends, we enjoy my French pressed coffee with the steamed milk. So good. . .

Before I moved to NYC, it was always black coffee. I went into a bagel place here, the guy asked how I wanted my coffee. I said "regular!" and so it began until last year when I went back to drinking it black.. Who knew it was "regular" to have coffee light and sweet! French Press is what we use.

I also like my coffee black. I have Nespresso machine but in the morning I drink "French Press without the press": I pour hot water over the espresso-ground beans and they fall to the bottom eventually. Thus, I have a brewed coffee with espresso quality.
